Richard Glossip recounts his death row experience after going through it three times now. A process that is supposed to be humane and torture free should not entail so much emotional and mental anguish. Aside from legal and ethical issues, the death penalty has moral factors to contend with.
“[The system] don’t want you thinking about anything but what is going to happen to you I think,” Glossip says. “They want you to have that in your head when they kill you—they are going to make sure you know you are going to die.”
A civilized society should be careful about sanctioning torture.
