Missourians to Abolish the Death Penalty (MADP) is entering an important transition period in our organization's history, and we are seeking a passionate, dedicated individual to lead us forward as our new Executive Director. As Missouri's only statewide organization focused exclusively on ending capital punishment, we are looking for a leader who can guide us through this next chapter of our advocacy work.


About Missourians to Abolish the Death Penalty


For decades, MADP has been on the frontlines of the movement to end capital punishment in Missouri. Our organization brings together diverse voices—from families of murder victims to those who have been wrongfully convicted, from faith leaders to concerned citizens—all united in the belief that the death penalty is a failed policy that must end.


A Time of Transition


As we navigate this leadership transition, we are looking for an Executive Director who can bring fresh energy and vision to our mission while honoring the foundation built by those who came before. The right candidate will help us strengthen our advocacy efforts, build strategic coalitions, and ultimately move Missouri closer to abolition.


The Role


The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of MADP's operations, including advocacy campaigns, educational initiatives, fundraising, and organizational development. Key Responsibilities:


- Provide strategic leadership to advance MADP's mission and vision

- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including legislators, coalition partners, and supporters

- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to ensure organizational sustainability

- Oversee advocacy campaigns and educational programming

- Serve as the public face of the organization in media appearances and community events

- Manage organizational operations, including budget, staff, and volunteers


Qualifications:


- Demonstrated commitment to criminal justice reform and ending the death penalty

- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing teams

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience with fundraising and donor development

- Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies

- Knowledge of the legislative process and advocacy strategies
